Analysis of Host Biomarkers Associated with Adverse TB Treatment Outcomes Across RePORT International Sites

Collaborator: RePORT International (CRFD Global)
Status: Ongoing

This study uses stored specimens from a previous study, Tuberculosis Research of INA-RESPOND on Drug Resistance (TRIPOD), which has already been completed. It aims to better understand tuberculosis by validating host biomarkers, which are biological markers found in patients’ blood that are linked to treatment failure, as well as identifying biomarkers that can indicate successful treatment outcomes.

The study is part of the international RePORT (Regional Prospective Observational Research for Tuberculosis) consortium, which involves multiple countries. A total of 99 stored specimens from TRIPOD participants were included and sent for analysis to four international laboratories: the Salgame Laboratory at Rutgers University (USA), MedGenome Laboratory (India), SATVI Laboratory (South Africa), and Fiocruz Laboratory (Brazil).
